 Re: Noggs Cougar Build
Well...made the trip to Zumbrota today...8-5 with a stop for lunch...not too bad. Saw some Bald Eagles, and some great landscapes. I love the transmission! It weighs about 5 pounds less because its not covered in oil and coolant My fuel efficent cargo vehicle! Straped down and ready to go! M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I Welcome to Minnesota! Zumbrota, finnaly! Arrived! Personalized Shiny! Ford date stamped JAN 06 2000, brand spanking new! I actaully didnt know it was going to come with the shift mechinisim, or the reverse position sensor...so they didnt get mine in return, but sweet, now I have a spare! I am very happy with my decision to go with this one, it was a fun drive, and not too long, im glad i didnt have to drive through the flat parts of Iowa to get a different higher mileage one, this one is new and was a shorter drive. The Prius did great, and I got 44.7 MPG the whole trip, used 9 galons of gas for the whole trip! Deffinately worth driving as opposed to paying shipping!

Forgive me if I missed something, but does this one have LSD now? Or are you still open-diff'd?

 Re: Noggs Cougar Build
yeah hope you are getting a diff... cause i finally got to drive a SVT Contour with one in it (same drive train as the v6 cougars just a few ponies more, and is more or less the ST200) and it was FANTASTIC! pulled MUCH better with it and it makes me really want one in mine!

 Re: Noggs Cougar Build
UPDATE! Transmission is in! HELP LAST PICTURE! Transmission installed New Control Arms My expensive transmission fluid... My transmission fluid bong Bong mounted The bong-ie? Subframe installed Axles in Here is the problem...I cant get the knuckle on the ball joint, I can get it about 1/2 inch away, and I just cant push it any more, and by that time im tired of pushing it while holding the control arm down so the knuckle is ontop of it. Anybody want to offer up suggestions or come help me?

 Re: Noggs Cougar Build
I would anti-seize/lube the ball joint, just get the snout to start going into the knuckle, then grab a deadblow/rubber hammer (or piece of wood/real hammer) and hammer that sucker in. It will right itself/go in straight, really helps to have someone push the strut/knuckle/brake disc towards the car to get the right angle.
Edit* - I see you get it close, but cant hold both. You will need someone to push. Or, you can get a large pry bar and gently pry the control arm down while you give it hell pushing it towards the chassis. Using one hand to move the control arm with the pry bar and the other to push the hell out of the knuckle assembly.
Hope that helps.

 Re: Noggs Cougar Build
can you drop the upper strut mounts and line up that lower ball joint first? I've struggled with one like that before.. I ended up having to put the jack under the knuckle to bring it in enough to get the balljoint/arm to line up.

 Re: Noggs Cougar Build
Screw that knuckle...Almost want to drop the subframe and put them on the control arm and then raise it all up together...

 Re: Noggs Cougar Build
Got them on...ended taking the control arm off, and pounding it on the knuckle, and then jacking up the control arm and sliding it into the subframe...
